About the trip - I don't really know where I want to go out of the options. I really want to go to Amakusa anyway, because it's supposed to be really beautiful and there's beaches and all that, but is there enough to do there to have a trip out of it? I know that us guys at the dorm want and could organise our own trip there for a couple of days. But, otherwise I really don't know, without it ending up being really expensive or really far away (How about Space World in Kita Kyushuu?!) There's not much else we can do, particularly which has educationtional value.
Herbivorous mean and Canivorous women.
This is interesting. I enjoyed hearing about it. I think that Japanese 草食男子 are the Japanese "metrosexuals", but more (and I don't mean this offensively) severe. In England, if a guy is a metrosexual, it doesn't have to mean that there he doesn't care about his career or that he won't approach a girl (sometimes it's the opposite) but they do care a LOT about their appearance and the way they look. I don't think that it's a bad thing, I mean, I don't know how you wouldn't want to get a better job and have a bike over a car, but that's just me. However, Bill brought an article to class this week about how 草食男子 and the phenomenom of men who have no motivation, are starting to negatively affect the economy in Japan. Which isn't good!

In regard to the trip, if it looks like those of you in the dorm who want to go to Amakusa can arrange something yourselves, that might be better. I'll talk about this a little in class.
返信削除I've heard the expression "metrosexual" before but I had forgotten about it until you and some others in the class mentioned it. Thanks!
The economic dimension to the issue is one we should talk about, I think.
